We’ve found some locations that have everything you need for the perfect break in the UK.

Somerset

Spend your Easter break in the beautiful location of Somerset. Whether you’re after a relaxing holiday where you can take the time to explore the scenery, or you want to spend more time taking an interest in the local culture and history – Somerset has it all. Lyme Regis, a picturesque fishing village is the perfect place to watch the sunset or rise and it’s surrounded by unique shops and tea rooms for when you get peckish. You may also want to take a look at the national trust buildings which are scattered across Somerset, be sure to visit Forde Abbey and Gardens too, you’ll be amazed by the architecture and grounds.

North Yorkshire

Home to the North Yorkshire Moors and the Yorkshire Dales you will find plenty of countryside in North Yorkshire. If you’re taking your grandchildren on a weekend away then they’ll love visiting the North Yorkshire Moors Railway where they’ll get to take a trip on an exciting stream train. In addition to plenty of nature spots where you can take peaceful walks, you’ll also find museums, castles and farms – so there’s always plenty to do.

Nottinghamshire

Where better to take a break in the spring than Nottinghamshire? Home to the famous Sherwood Forrest and the history or Robin Hood, it’s the perfect family location – both you and the grandchildren will love it here. In Nottinghamshire you’ll also find stunning cathedrals and caves and you could even hire a canal boat if you fancy doing something different. If you’re looking for somewhere a bit more vibrant then take a trip to the city of Nottingham, with restaurants, shops and cafes galore you’re sure to find somewhere to take a well-earned rest after exploring.

Isle of Wight

Take a break in the Isle of Wight to experience something new, here you’ll find everything you need to have the perfect holiday, from beaches and parks to castles. If you’re taking the grandchildren then you might want to visit the Monkey Haven where you and your family will be able to spend time with the monkeys and other animals. You could also visit the Dinosaur Expedition where you’ll find out all you need to know about Dinosaurs – fun for adults and children alike. If you’re a keen fisher then the Isle of Wight is the perfect place for you to spend your Easter break.
