Travel insurance for the adventurous over 50s

travel.jpgOver 50s are becoming much more adventurous in their choice of ho≠lidays such as trekking in Nepal, kayaking in Vietnam, cycling in Cuba, bridge walking in the USA, husky sledge driving in Norway, elephant riding in India, hot-air ballooning in Africa, canoeing in the South of France, white water rafting in New Zealand and skiing in the Rockies. Retired life has its benefits such as having the time to travel and experience new and exciting activities on your holiday.

It is always recommended that you take out a travel insurance policy before you travel. Most Annual Multi Trip travel insurance policies will cover you for a wide range of activities on your holiday such as those mentioned above but do check your policy document before you travel so you know what is included to avoid any concern.

Other examples of activities which are usually covered free* and you donít need to notify your travel insurance policy holder are: bungee jumping, camel riding, cave tubing, conservation or charity work, cross-country skiing, dragon boating, dune bashing, glacier walking, go-karting, golf, hiking, horse riding, jet boating, jet skiing, kite surfing, mountain biking, mud bugging, skiing, orienteering, parasailing, parascending, rambling, river tubing, scuba diving, snorkelling, snowboarding, surfing, tobogganing, tree top walking, water skiing, windsurfing and yachting.

Senior travel insurance no longer has to cost you a small fortune as there are more choices as to where you can buy your travel insurance rather than just from the travel agent which can often be very expensive. Most travel insurance policies will cover you for medical emergencies, muggings, loss of documentation, loss of money etc. A lot of travel insurance policies now cover up to age 75 for Annual Multi Trip and even up to age 85 for a Single Trip. Do remember to declare any existing medical conditions!
